Six Palestinians killed in Israeli raids

(CNN) -- Four Palestinians were killed and nine others were injured Tuesday morning when Israel launched a raid into northern Gaza, Palestinian security forces said. At least two others were killed in the West Bank.

According to the Israeli military, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) engaged a cell that was launching rockets into Israel. The military said its forces identified three Palestinians who were shot during the fighting.

In the West Bank, the Israeli military said its forces arrested 23 wanted Palestinians in other overnight raids.

In the village of Qabatiya, IDF arrested seven members of the Palestinian group Islamic Jihad. Palestinian security forces said one Palestinian was killed in Qabatiya during a firefight with Israeli forces.

In the Balata refugee camp, a Palestinian militant was killed, according to Palestinian security forces and the IDF.

Palestinian security forces reported the death of another Palestinian militant in the village of Anabta -- a 29-year-old from the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade -- but the Israeli military said it was not operating in the area.
