JERUSALEM (CNN) -- Israel said it would use "pinpoint action" in response to Qassam rockets launched into Israel from Gaza, but it would "continue to uphold the cease-fire and work with the Palestinian Authority to take immediate steps to stop the Qassam firing."

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's office issued the statement Wednesday morning, hours after the latest round of Qassam missiles fired from Gaza in Sderot, Israel wounded two teenagers. (Watch how escalating violence could roil Mideast politics Video)

"Although Israel has agreed to cease fire over the last month, under these circumstances the guidance to the security forces is to take pinpoint action against rocket firing cells," Olmert's statement said.

"Israel will also continue to uphold the ceasefire and work with The PA to take immediate steps to stop the Qassam firing."

An Israeli Army spokeswoman said about 70 Qassam rockets have been fired into Israel from Gaza since the cease-fire began a month ago.

CNN's Shira Medding in Jerusalem contributed to this report.
