NUSA DUA, Indonesia -- Lindsay Davenport has continued her fairytale comeback by reaching the semifinals of the Bali International with a hard-fought win over top seed Jelena Jankovic.

The American, who is considering a full-time return to tennis three months after having a baby son, triumphed 6-4 2-6 6-2 against the Serbian.

The former world No. 1, now ranked a lowly 234th, kept her cool as her 22-year-old opponent self-destructed in the final set following a close line call.

Jankovic, the world No. 3, trailed 4-2 in the decider when the umpire overruled a Davenport return called out by the linesman.

She then served two double-faults and smashed her racquet before conceding the game, and Davenport then calmly took the match.

"It was just a nightmre. He was just awful," Jankovic said of the umpire. "Especially with Lindsay, the way she serves, every opportunity that you get you have to take it, but the umpire was just doing the opposite. When the ball was in he would call it out."

Davenport said: "Part of pro tennis is dealing with line calls and crowds ... so all I wanted to do was worry about myself. If you see an opponent kind of self-destructing, you want to focus on playing high-percentage shots, and that's what I was trying to do."

Davenport, who came back from 4-1 down in the opening set, will on Saturday play Italian Sara Errani, who beat Japan's Aiko Nakamura 6-1 6-2.

In the other semi-final, second seed Daniela Hantuchova will take on Sorana Cirstea of Romania.

The Slovakian thrashed Japanese teenager Ayumi Morita 6-2 6-1, while unseeded Cirstea beat compatriot Edina Gallovits 3-6 6-4 7-6 (7-3). E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend
