ESTORIL, Portugal -- Valentino Rossi maintained the pressure on championship leader Casey Stoner by winning the Portuguese MotoGP in Estoril.

Rossi now trails leader Stoner by 76 points with four races left.
The seven-time world champion came out on top in a thrilling duel with Spaniard Dani Pedrosa, leaving Australian Stoner a distant third.
Stoner, an eight-time winner this year, is 76 points ahead of Italian Rossi, who has now claimed four victories in 2007.
Pedrosa trails Stoner by 99, and there are 100 points available in the four remaining races this season, starting with next weekend's Japanese Grand Prix. E-mail to a friend ![]()
