CAPE TOWN, South Africa -- Australia lost all-rounder Shane Watson to injury as they comfortably defeated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets to book their place in the semifinals of the world Twenty20 championship in Cape Town.

Clark's four for 20 was an Australian best in Tenty20 cricket.

They dismissed Sri Lanka for 101 in 19.3 overs, with Stuart Clark taking four for 20, the best figures by an Australian in the Twenty20 game.

Watson, who came in as a replacement for injured captain Ricky Ponting, got rid of top scorer Jehan Mubarak (28) but, after sending down the second ball of his fourth over, pulled up with a recurrence of a left hamstring problem.

Adam Gilchrist, who took over the captaincy from Ponting, and Matthew Hayden knocked off the 102 runs needed in 10.2 overs. Hayden finished on 58.

India moved into the semifinals when they pulled off a fine 37-run victory over South Africa under the lights in Durban.

It was a big disappointment for the hosts, who tumbled to 31 for five chasing a modest 154.Mark Boucher and Albie Morkel put on 69 to give the Proteas hope by India bowled well to force an unexpected victory.

Left-arm seamer Rudra Pratap Singh took four for while Shanthakumaran Sreesanth and Harbhajan claimed two wickets each.

Twenty-year-old Rohit Sharma made an unbeaten 50 as India struggled to set a reasonable target.

Pakistan reached the last four but made hard work of beating Bangladesh by four wickets.

Bangladesh made 140, with opener Zunaed Siddique earning the man of the match accolade by hitting 71 off 49 deliveries.

The 19-year-old left-hander, making his international debut, hammered three sixes and six fours.

Pakistan moved briskly to 59 before losing their first wicket but then slipped to 69 for three.They faltered again by tumbling from 102 for three to 119 for six and had a let-off when Imran Nazir was dropped before they reached their target.
