Djokovic said that his semifinal win was his best performance of the tournament so far.

In Saturday's semifinals world number three Djokovic, of Serbia, beat Italian Andreas Seppi and Wawrinka overcame Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero 7-5 6-1.

Djokovic, who is seeking his fifth title of the year, said: "This was my best match of the tournament so far. Seppi played well and I am just happy to finish off the match in two sets."

Djokovic lost serve in the opening game against the 73rd-ranked Seppi, but broke back twice, the second time at 5-4 on his first set point.

Djokovic claimed his only break point to take an early lead in the second set.

Wawrinka dominated Ferrero, who was far below his best. The former world number one lost the opening four games and even though he fought back to 4-4 Wawrinka was soon back on top. A further break gave him the set, and he then swept to a 5-0 lead in the second, giving up just two points on his own serve.

Kremlin Cup defending champion Nikolay Davydenko beat Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia 7-6 6-1 to reach his first final this season in Moscow.

He will play either the 2002 champion Paul-Henri Mathieu or Michael Berrer of Germany.

The final of the Stockholm Open will be between Ivo Karlovic, the Croatian seventh seed and home player Thomas Johansson, who saved four match points before toppling top seed James Blake 3-6 6-1 7-6.

Johansson's triumph ended the two-time defending champion's 13-match winning streak in the tournament.

Karlovic accounted for fourth seed Tommy Haas of Germany 6-4 6-3. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend
