Djokovic is getting used to the taste of success this season.

Djokovic, who has climbed to number three in the world rankings, was made to fight hard in the opening set by Wawrinka who was playing his second final of the year, losing to Rafael Nadal in Stuttgart.

Djokovic took an early lead as he broke to lead 2-1 but as he served for the set had to stave off a break point in a match of long rallies.

But having taken the opener, Djokovic took total command as he allowed Wawrinka a solitary four points in six games as he took the second set in just 20 minutes.

It was an astonishing collapse and left Djokovic in good heart as he heads for the Madrid Masters where he expected to mount a strong challenge to world number one Roger Federer and second ranked Nadal.

Djokovic was beaten by Federer as the reached his first grand slam final at the U.S. Open earlier this year.

Great to win another title," Djokovic said. "I was good in the first set, but I played some incredible tennis in the second."

In Stockholm, big-serving Ivo Karlovic had 27 aces in defeating Thomas Johansson 6-3 3-6 6-1 Sunday to win the Stockholm Open for his third career ATP title.

After splitting the first two sets on the Royal Tennis Hall's hard court, Karlovic broke the unseeded Swede to lead 2-0 in the third when Johansson netted the Croat's hard forehand return. Karlovic broke again to take a 4-0 lead.

The 6-foot-10 Karlovic, the tallest player on the ATP tour, has a tour-leading 1,135 aces this year. Goran Ivanisevic set the record in 1996 with 1,477 aces.

With the win, the seventh-seeded Karlovic joined top-ranked Roger Federer as the only players to win singles titles on three different surfaces this year.

Karlovic won his first two ATP titles this year at Houston (clay) and Nottingham (grass) and earned a career-high ranking of No. 25 this week.

In Moscow, Nikolay Davydenko defended his Kremlin Cup title by beating Paul-Henri Mathieu 7-5 7-6 (9-7) in the final.

The top-seeded Russian won his first title of the season and his third in his home event.

He broke the Frenchman, the winner in 2002, in the fifth and 11th games of the first set.

Mathieu saved two match-points before leveling at 5-5 in the second set, then Davydenko saved two set-points in the 12th game to force the tiebreak. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend
