PARIS, France -- Mark Cueto has been named to replace the injured Josh Lewsey on England's wing in Saturday's Rugby World Cup final against South Africa in Paris.

Coach Ashton divulges his plans for the final to Cueto.

It is the only change in coach Brian Ashton's starting XV after the semifinal victory over France.

Center Dan Hipkiss, who came on as a replacement when try-scorer Lewsey pulled a hamstring in the semi, will start the final back on the bench.

Ashton said it was Cueto's experience at international level of playing in the back three and an expected "aerial bombardment" from South Africa that had earned him selection.

Mathew Tait and Mike Catt continue in the center as England try to become the first nation to retain the trophy.

Sale winger Cueto will be making his fourth start at the tournament but the first since the pool victory over Tonga almost three weeks ago.

England will field men who were in their starting XV in the 2003 final in Australia - full-back Jason Robinson, fly-half Jonny Wilkinson, prop Phil Vickery and lock Ben Kay.

Catt, 36 last month, will be the oldest player to take part in a World Cup final.

A strike by French rail unions could hamper fans traveling to the final on Saturday.

There will be a major stoppage across France on Thursday and Friday, over planned changes to retirement schemes, and several unions have called for the strike to continue on Saturday.

The action could affect the line which serves the Stade de France but Ashton said he believed the fans would find their way to the stadium come what may.

"They may not know how they are going to get here, but they will get to Paris," said Ashton.

"We are well known for swimming the Channel, aren't we?"
