CARDIFF, Wales -- Wales will face a close to full strength South Africa side when the world champions visit Cardiff for a test match next month.

World Player of the Year Habana will be on view in Cardiff.

The Springboks will be led by John Smit and the side will include World Player of the Year Bryan Habana.

The Welsh Rugby Union has been given a pledge by the South Africans that they will field virtually their World Cup-winning side.

"This is great news but it is no less than we expected," said the Welsh caretaker coach Nigel Davies.

"South Africa are not going to want to come to Cardiff and lose their first game after becoming world champions. They will want to make a show of it and come here and beat us.

"This is a great opportunity for everyone involved in the team to test ourselves against the best team in the world at the moment," he added.

South Africa became champions by beating the previous holders, England, in the final in Paris this month.

Their tour also features a match against a Barbarians side at Twickenham. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend
