CARDIFF, Wales -- World champions South Africa marked coach Jake White's final full international in charge with a 34-12 victory against Wales in a one-off Test at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.

Francois Steyn bursts through the Wales defense during South Africa's 34-12 victory.
White, who will finish his reign with an exhibition match against the Barbarians at Twickenham in England on December 1, saw his team run in five tries in a comprehensive victory.
The Welsh were under the guidance of caretaker coach Nigel Davies, who will now stand aside for ex-All Black Warren Gatland.
Gatland, formerly coach of Ireland, English club Wasps and New Zealand province Waikato, will officially take over as the replacement for the sacked Gareth Jenkins next weekend.
His prospective players made a disastrous start to the match, going 22-0 down after only 31 minutes.
Francois Steyn, one of nine players who featured in the World Cup victory against England in France, kicked a third-minute penalty after lock Bakkies Botha was tackled high by Jonathan Thomas.
And in the Springboks' first serious attack in the 20th minute, fly-half Andre Pretorious set Juan Smith free and the flanker burst through tackles by fly-half James Hook and wing Mark Jones to score the opening try.
Hook then missed an easy penalty before center Jaque Fourie crossed unopposed following good work by skipper John Smit and full-back Ruan Pienaar, but Pretorious this time missed the conversion.
However, his superb offload freed wing JP Pietersen, who put Fourie over the line for his second try -- the tourists' third in 11 minutes.
Wales hit back just before the half-time break when flanker Colin Charvis claimed his 22nd Test touchdown -- a world record for a forward.
But South Africa extended their lead to 29-5 just four minutes after the interval as winger Bryan Habana -- the top try-scorer at the World Cup -- cut open the Welsh defense to set up Pietersen, and Pretorious added the extras.
The home side did not give up, however, and took advantage after the Springboks had replacement lock Albert van den Berg sin-binned for killing the ball.
Full-back Morgan Stoddart marked his debut with a try in the 53rd minute after climbing high to claim Hook's kick to the corner, reducing the deficit to 29-12.
But the South Africans sealed the victory for White with 13 minutes remaining with a try by debutant No. 8 Ryan Kankowski after Wales lost the ball in their own 22m area. E-mail to a friend ![]()
