BEAVER CREEK, Colorado -- Hannes Reichelt led an Austrian podium sweep in the World Cup men's super-G race in Beaver Creek, Colorado on Monday.

Reichelt also led an Austrian one-two-three in the event two years ago.

He came home in one minute 19.87 seconds, just .02 ahead of Mario Scheiber, with Christoph Gruber third in 1:20.08.

The event, postponed from Saturday because of poor weather, gave Austria their first podium sweep since last year's downhill at Garmisch.

Reichelt, 27, won the Super-G at Beaver Creek in 2005, leading home two fellow countrymen on that occasion too..

It was his fourth podium and the seventh for Scheiber, who has yet to record a victory.

Swiss Daniel Albrecht, who won a giant slalom race at Beaver Creek on Sunday and a combined event last Thursday, was fourth in 1:20.18.

Two more Austrians, Benjamin Raich and Michael Walchhofer, shared fifth in 1:20.21 in the final race before the men's ski elite leave North America for Europe.

Albrecht jumped ahead in the overall World Cup standings after eight races with 272 points, 13 ahead of compatriot and previous leader Didier Cuche with Raich third on 255 and injured Norwegian Aksel Lund Svindal fourth on 234.

"It's not really a surprise," Albrecht said after taking the lead. "I prepared myself well for the courses. I ski well on the US snow. I think I can continue at the top if I ski the same way and adapt to the European snow."

Raich grabbed the Super-G lead after two races, on 125 points, with Reichelt next on 109 and Svindal third on 100, four ahead of Scheiber and 14 in front of Gruber. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend
