LONDON, England -- Former Norway international Tore Andre Flo has signed for struggling Leeds United, the English Championship club confirmed on Wednesday. The former Norway international will link up with old Chelsea team-mate Dennis Wise, now the Leeds coach, after agreeing a contract until the end of the season. The 33-year-old Flo, who was capped 76 times for Norway, was released by Oslo-based Vaalerenga after injuries limited his appearances for the club. Flo made a big impact at Stamford Bridge after signing for Chelsea in 1997 from SK Brann, scoring 50 goals for the club before moving to Rangers for 12 million pounds ($23.66 million) in 2000. Former Champions League semifinalists Leeds are facing a battle to avoid relegation to England's third tier. They are currently second from bottom and three points from safety. ![]() Striker Flo climbs high for Siena in a 2005 Serie A game against Atalanta. |
