LONDON, England -- A brilliant second-half goal by Helder Postiga earned Portugal a 2-1 win over Belgium in Euro 2008 qualifying on Saturday.

Manchester United's new signing Nani put the visitors in front against the run of play in the 43rd minute, cutting in from the left before firing home in fine style.

Belgium equalized in the 54th with a Marouane Felliani strike before former Tottenham striker Postiga rifled home from 25 meters nine minutes later to give the Portuguese a vital three points.

Portugal have 14 points from seven matches in Group A, five behind leaders Poland. Belgium remain on seven points.

Poland strengthened their position at the top of the group but had to come from behind to beat Azerbaijan 3-1 away with goals by Euzebiusz Smolarek (63) and Jacek Krzynowek (66, 90) to record their sixth win from eight matches.

Serbia won 2-0 in Finland in another Group A match to be level on 14 points with Portugal in the battle for second qualifying spot.
