BARCELONA, Spain -- Thierry Henry is undergoing a medical at Barcelona before completing his move from English Premier League Arsenal for a reported fee of $32 million. The French international striker arrived in Spain on Sunday evening to much fanfare ahead of his medical tests. The 29-year-old had an examination at Barcelona hospital on Monday before going to the Nou Camp for further tests. If all goes well, the prolific striker will be officially presented with his shirt in mid-afternoon before being formally presented to the press. Henry will be Barca's first major summer signing as they look to rebuild after the twin disappointment of losing their Champions League and Spanish La Liga crowns this season. A statement from Barcelona read: "This Monday, the French striker will undergo his medical at Barcelona's medical centre at the Nou Camp and his scheduled presentation will be in the afternoon. "The presentation consists of a press conference at the 'Paris Room' at Barcelona's premises, and afterwards the player will go out on to the pitch at the Nou Camp for the first time as a Barcelona player. "This final act will be open to the general public. "All that remains are to smooth out some details of the operation between the three parties involved in the agreement, that is Arsenal, Barcelona and Thierry Henry." Henry leaves the Gunners as the club's record goalscorer after netting 226 goals coming in 364 appearances. The former Monaco player joined Arsenal in the summer of 1999 after a disappointing spell at Juventus and came of age under the guidance of mentor Arsene Wenger. He won two Premier League titles, finished as the competition's top scorer on four occasions and collected an FA Cup winner's medal three times. He also appeared in last year's Champions League final when the Gunners were beaten by the club he is now joining. ![]() Henry reflects on Arsenal's shock Champions League exit to PSV Eindhoven last season.
