LONDON, England -- Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has been given the go-ahead to play for Germany in Saturday's Euro 2008 qualifier against Wales in Cardiff.

Lehmann will be looking to prove his critics wrong in Saturday's qualifier.
Lehmann, 37, gave an eccentric performance in the 2-1 friendly win over England last month and damaged his Achilles tendon in the process.
An elbow injury has also been threatening his appearance at the Millenium Stadium but after training with the squad on Monday night and again on Tuesday, Lehmann will start against the Welsh.
"The injuries are giving him slight discomfort, but will not hinder his performance," head coach Joachim Loew told German sports agency SID.
"There is nothing standing in the way of him playing against Wales."
Lehmann has been under pressure to keep his place at Premier League hopefuls Arsenal after making several mistakes recently against Fulham and Blackburn.
Lehmann has always been Loew's first-choice keeper since he took over as head coach from Jurgen Klinsmann after last year's World Cup.
Germany are five points clear at the top of Group D with Wales in fifth place on seven points. E-mail to a friend ![]()
