Barcelona opened their Champions League campaign with a commanding 3-0 victory at home to Lyon, scoring two goals in the final 10 minutes at the Nou Camp.

Goalscorer Thierry Henry tussles with Lyon's Sebastien Squillaci during Barcelona's 3-0 victory.

The French side went behind in the 21st minute, when Francois Clerc diverted a teasing cross from Lionel Messi into his own net after the Argentina forward skipped past Jeremy Toulalan down the left.

Remy Vercoutre in the Lyon goal was forced into making several saves before Messi made it 2-0 with a first-time effort from close range in the 82nd minute, finishing off a fine move also involving Deco and substitute Andres Iniesta.

Iniesta made big impact after coming on to replace Brazilian playmaker Ronaldinho in the 66th minute.

Summer signing Thierry Henry completed the scoring in the second minute of injury-time, with the former Arsenal forward pouncing after Vercoutre parried a shot by Giovani Dos Santos to score his first goal for the Spaniards.

It was a big boost for Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard, whose side had failed to score in two of their three domestic league matches this season.

In Wednesday's other Group E match, Rangers came from behind to beat Stuttgart 2-1 in Glasgow.

Mario Gomez put the Germans ahead in the 56th minute, stabbing Sami Khedira's inswinging cross past keeper Allan McGregor after getting in front of David Weir at the near post.

The home side had been down to 10 men at the time, as skipper Barry Ferguson was off the field receiving treatment for a head injury.

But the Scots hit back just six minutes later as Charlie Adam cut in from the left and curled a superb right-foot effort past the outstretched hand of Raphael Schafer.

And Rangers, who suffered their first defeat this season last weekend, took the lead in the 75th minute as French striker Jean-Claude Darcheville coolly slotted home from the penalty spot after Alan Hutton was brought down by Fernando Meira.

In Group G, Fenerbahce triumphed 1-0 at home to Italian champions Inter Milan thanks to a spectacular winner from striker Deivid De Souza just before half-time.

The Brazilian netted an acrobatic volley in the 43rd minute after his compatriots Alex and Roberto Carlos -- a former Inter player -- combined well in the build-up.

Full-back Carlos also hit the post for the Turkish side in the 57th minute.

Inter, missing the injured Marco Materazzi and Patrick Vieira, brought on Luis Figo, Luis Antonio Jimenez and striker Hernan Crespo in the second half but could not find an equalizer.

PSV Eindhoven opened their Group G campaign with a 2-1 victory at home to CSKA Moscow, with all the goals scored in the second half.

The Dutch side took the lead in the 59th minute when substitute Kenneth Perez set up Danko Lazovic for his third goal in four games this season.

Then, with 10 minutes to go, Perez made it 2-0 after playing a one-two with Jan Kromkamp and firing into the top near corner past keeper Veniamin Mandrykin.

The Russians scored an 89th-minute consolation when Brazilian striker Vagner Love rounded keeper Heurelho Gomes and slid the ball into the unguarded net after Yuri Zhirkov won possession for CSKA. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend
