BERLIN, Germany -- Defender Bastian Reinhardt gave Hamburg their ninth victory in 10 games when he scored an 81st minute winner at home to Hertha Berlin, moving his side to within two points of Bundelsiga leaders Bayern Munich.

Reinhardt scored Hamburg's winner with an 81st minute header.

Bayern, who led the table by six points in mid-October, were held 0-0 at home by Eintracht Frankfurt.

Hamburg went ahead when Peru striker Jose Paolo Guerrero fired home after four minutes, but Berlin midfielder Patrick Ebert equalized after 59 minutes. Reinhardt restored Hamburg's lead with a header.

Bayern's star summer signings Miroslav Klose, Luca Toni and Franck Ribery all wasted chances as Munich failed to break down Frankfurt's dogged defense.

Werder Bremen are two points behind Hamburg in third position after Portuguese striker Hugo Almeida poached a 39th minute goal which was enough to account for visiting Hansa Rostock.

Champions VfB Stuttgart achieved a second consecutive Bundesliga win as Germany's player of the year Mario Gomez fired in a superb winning goal at Nuremberg after 25 minutes.

After controlling a long-ball from midfield, Gomez beat two defenders to slide his shot past Nuremberg's Czech goalkeeper Jaromir Blazek for a win that puts Stuttgart 11th.

Hanover moved to fourth after Hungarian midfielder Szabolcs Huszti converted a 55th minute penalty at home to Borussia Dortmund. Defender Christian Schulz grabbed a second goal after 73 minutes before Florian Kringe pulled one back 11 minutes from time.

Bayer Leverkusen, sixth, ran out comfortable 4-0 winners over Arminia Bielefeld, who are plummeting towards relegation.

Greek striker Theofanis Gekas struck twice in five first-half minutes after his forward partner Sergej Barbarez gave Bayer an early lead before adding a second goal 10 minutes from time with a simple tap in.

On Sunday, midtable VfL Bochum take on VfL Wolfsburg, while fifth-placed Karlsruhe meet strugglers Duisburg. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend
