LONDON, England -- Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann faces a crucial decision about his immediate future when the January transfer window opens.

Lehmann has been left frustrated by his lack of first team opportunities at Arsenal.
The Germany international lost his place to Manuel Almunia this season and has been warned by coach Joachim Loew that he must be playing first-team football if he is to represent his country at Euro 2008 next summer.
The chances of that being in north London decreased further when his Spanish replacement made a match-winning penalty save against Tottenham at the weekend, and Lehmann has now set himself a deadline.
"If I am going to switch clubs, then I would have to reach a decision by the start of January at the latest," he said in an interview with Berlin's Tagesspiegel newspaper.
"That means in about a week."
Lehmann believes there is interest from other clubs. He said: "I have heard something, but I cannot say anything concrete about it at the moment."
Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are believed to be leading the chase for the 38-year-old and Lehmann admits there has been contact between the two clubs.
"Somebody from there has called Arsene Wenger," he revealed. "My lawyer has also spoken with people, but I cannot say which club they are from. "Things keep moving, so it is hard to talk about it at the moment. I should know more in a week." E-mail to a friend ![]()
