LONDON, England -- Prize money for the 2007 Scottish Open tournament will rise by £500,000 ($974,949) to £3 million ($5.84m), the European Tour said on Monday. First prize at the July 12-15 event at Loch Lomond, the final warm-up tournament ahead of the British Open at Carnoustie, will be £500,000.. That is four times the amount collected by Denmark's Thomas Bjorn when he won the inaugural edition in 1996. Barclays have also agreed to continue their sponsorship of the event until 2012. Top players like Ernie Els (twice), Colin Montgomerie, Retief Goosen, Lee Westwood and Tom Lehman are among the past winners.
