(CNN) -- Lizzie Cameron is a 26-year old graphic designer from Edinburgh, Scotland.

After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art, she traded the familiarity and calm of the Scottish Borders for an adventure in "the big smoke" of London. Three years working and living in London was enough, and she returned to Edinburgh, where she's been working for an advertising agency.

Lizzie could have easily settled into a career in advertising, but for a long time, she's been thinking about doing something radically different.

So she's decided to take the next year off and travel to the shores of Lake Victoria, in the far northern reaches of Tanzania, very near the Kenyan border. At her back door lie Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti and Mount Kilimanjaro -- home to some of the most exotic wildlife on the planet.

Look out for some great visuals from Lizzie in the coming year.

While in Musoma, Lizzie will be helping support teachers with dressmaking, woodworking and leatherwork, as well as setting up a Web site, fundraising and campaigning for those with disabilities in the Mara region of Tanzania.

It's called the Musoma Engineering Project, the only one of its kind in the remote province.

"I am looking forward to getting involved in this project as well as meeting the people of Tanzania and really experiencing their culture," says Lizzie.

Lizzie is an inspiration and we hope you'll take the time to get to know her. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend
