LAHORE, Pakistan (CNN) -- At least 12 people died in attacks in Pakistan Saturday, authorities told CNN.

A suicide bomber targeting a packed bus in a tribal area near the Afghan border killed eight people and wounded more than 30, a government official told CNN.

The bomber detonated a car at a bus station in Parachinar, 150 miles south of Peshawar.

In North Waziristan's Dosli area, also in the border region, militants fired 50 rockets at a checkpoint, killing four soldiers and wounded four others, an army spokesman said. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend
