(CNN) -- Afghan and U.S.-led coalition forces freed seven prisoners held by Taliban members in Qalat district, the coalition said on Tuesday.

The group was discovered during a search of compounds in the district last Wednesday, the coalition said.

In addition, Afghan and coalition forces arrested a suspected insurgent Tuesday in the Qalat district of southern Afghanistan's Zabul Province while searching for "foreign fighter facilitator cells," the coalition command said.

The coalition said its forces were acting on "actionable intelligence."

There was no word on casualties, but a nearby building was damaged during the operation, the coalition said. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend
