LONDON, England (CNN) -- It seems charity has never been so glamorous.

Grey Goose Vodka paired up with the Elton John AIDS Foundation to create a series of temporary bars designed by the cream of the art, fashion and entertainment worlds.

Each bar came with its own new cocktail, created especially for the occasion by the world's top mixologists. The bars went up for sale and were sold by an auctioneer borrowed from Sotheby's for the night

David Furnish, Sir Elton John's partner and a trustee of the foundation, hosted the Grey Goose Vodka "Character and Cocktails" party in aid of the foundation in London's Covent Garden. The hot guest-list included Kelly Osborne, Camilla Al Fayed and London socialites Olympia Scarry and Jodie Harsh.

David Furnish dreamed up a Las Vegas inspired bar creation, Dinos Chapman whipped up an ice cream van bar, Sam Taylor-Wood went all military with a cheeky "Mess Bar," Burberry's Christopher Bailey stomped out a new punk "Stud Bar," and, last but not least, the glamazon Elizabeth Hurley and cool cobbler Patrick Cox have teamed up to create the ultimate "front row" fashion bar with glass panels reflecting a rainbow of light across the room.

The total raised from the sale of the bars was nearly £150,000 ($310,600), proving that charity and cocktails are formidable partners.

The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF), established by Sir Elton John in 1992, is one of the world's leading non-profit organizations supporting innovative HIV/AIDS prevention education programs. Since its founding, EJAF has raised over $125 million to support worthy programs in 55 countries around the globe. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend
