(CNN) -- The search for beauty is eternal and this month's Art of Life comes to you from Paris the spiritual home of some of the world's best loved and most exclusive makeup and skincare brands.
This month's Art of Life on beauty comes from Paris
Monita Rajpal meets Aerin Lauder in New York as she re-launches Private Collection, the classic fragrance her grandmother Estée created more than three decades ago. Later, in Paris she finds out the secret of beautiful skin from Rebecca Körner of cult Australian skincare house, Korner. And Linzie Janis finds out what it takes to get to the top in hairdressing when she meets John Frieda at his salon in New York's fashionable Meatpacking District and his home in Ibiza.
For Aerin Lauder, reviving the Private Collection fragrance is more than just a tribute to her grandmother, Estée. She started the company from a kitchen in Queens, NY with just four products in 1946, today Estée Lauder Inc has become one of the world's best known brands. It achieved $6.75bn net sales in 130 countries last year. It is in no small part due to the role Aerin has played bringing the wisdom and philosophies taught to her by Estée when she was growing up and her personal style to a brand that is intimately bound with beauty.
The science of skincare
Rebecca Körner's heritage is a skincare empire spanning one hundred years -- from her grandmother's salon in Transylvania to her father's development of the Madame Körner brand in Australia. She has now established her own skincare range Körner. She tells Monita Rajpal why orchids are amazing for the skin, and shows her round the company's laboratories in Paris where science and art are employed in the quest for beauty.
He may not hold a pair of scissors these days, but John Frieda still wields a lot of influence in the world of hair. A leading light in the fashion industry for almost a decade, Frieda's fame was cemented when he came up with legendary hair product, Frizz-Ease. Linzie Janis meets Frieda and some of his stylist collaborators dubbed the "House of Experts" who travel round the world styling the likes of Nicole Kidman and Sarah Jessica Parker. E-mail to a friend
