Mizuno was founded in 1906 when Rihachi Mizuno and his younger brother Rizo established Mizuno Brothers Ltd. in Osaka, selling western sundries, including baseballs.

From 1907 the company began selling order-made athletics wear, the products that would go on to be Mizuno's trademark.
Today the company has assets totaling more than $1.2 billion and sales for 2007 totaled more than $1.3 billion.
The Mizuno Corporation has a long history of support for the Olympic Movement, dating back to the Games of the VIII Olympiad in Paris in 1924, when the company supplied equipment and apparel to the Japanese delegation.
Since 1980 the company has been an official supplier to several Olympic Games. Currently, it is also the official supplier of uniforms for the International Olympic Committee and has sponsored the Olympic Museum as well. E-mail to a friend ![]()
