ADELAIDE, Australia -- Indian maestro Sachin Tendulkar made 150 for the 17th time in his outstanding Test career and captain Anil Kumble weighed in with 87 as India amassed an imposing 526 in the fourth Test against Australia in Adelaide.

Gilchrist (righit) is congratulated after setting a world record for wicketkeeping dismissals.
India, who need to win the match to level the four-Test series, have given themselves every chance although Australia reached 62 without loss by the close of play on the second day.
Resuming on 309 for five wickets Tendulkar reached his landmark before lunch, but when he was dismissed for 153 it left the tourists on 359 for seven wickets.
However, Kumble and Harbhajan Singh took up the mantle with a superb century stand for the eighth wicket.
Kumble was the last man out in India's highest total at the Adelaide Oval, caught behind by Adam Gilchrist for 87 off the bowling of Mitchell Johnson, having also added 58 for the last wicket with paceman Ishant Sharma.
The catch was Gilchrist's fourth for the innings and more significantly saw him set a world record record for wicketkeeping dismissals, his tally of 414 edging him one ahead of South Africa's Mark Boucher.
Brett Lee was again the most impressive of the Australian bowlers on a placid wicket with 3-101, while Johnson finished with 4-126.
Australian openers Matthew Hayden and Phil Jaques were largely untroubled in posting a half-century stand by stumps, but the home side who lead the series 2-1, will come under pressure on the third day. E-mail to a friend ![]()
