INDIAN WELLS, California -- Top seed Serbian Ana Ivanovic booked her semifinal berth at the Pacific Life Open on Thursday with a straight-sets victory over Russian Vera Zvonareva.

Ivanovic dropped just five games on her way to the semifinals in Indian Wells.

Ivanovic, whose runner-up finish at the Australian Open propelled her to number two in the world rankings, took just over an hour to complete a 6-1 6-4 victory over the 12th-seeded Russian.

"In the second set I had a break up and lost concentration in that game," Ivanovic said.

"I started to get a little bit emotional, trying to go for too much and lost my rhythm a little bit.

"I was just happy that at the end of the second set I managed to keep calm and play good," added the Serb, who broke again for a 5-4 lead and served out the match.

Despite her ascent in the rankings, Ivanovic is seeking her first WTA title win since Luxembourg last September.

She awaits the winner of Thursday afternoon's match between third-seeded Jelena Jankovic and veteran Lindsay Davenport.

Davenport, 31 and enjoying a resurgence after taking off nearly a year to have a baby, has won this title two times, in 1997 and 2000. The former world number one is also a four-time runner-up, her most recent finals appearance coming in 2005.

Australian Open champion Maria Sharapova, the fourth seed, and second-seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova both won on Wednesday to book an all-Russian semifinal. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend
