LONDON, England (CNN) -- The French Grand Prix will be held for the last time at Magny-Cours this year but Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone wants it to return to a new Paris circuit in 2010.
F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone wants the French Grand Prix to be held in or near to Paris.
Ecclestone has in the past indicated he thinks Magny-Cours is too isolated and that there is a limited amount of facilities for fans.
The circuit is near Nevers, a city on the Loire river, in the heart of rural France. Attendances have suffered in the past due to its location and lack of accommodation.
Ecclestone, in an interview with the French sports newspaper L'Euipe on Monday, revealed this season would be the last time Magny-Cours hosted a grand prix.
"2008 will be the last time we continue like this," he said. "It [Magny-Cours] is not the right place."

Ecclestone confirmed his interest in having the grand prix shift to Paris or just outside the city.
The Briton said he had spoken to the French Prime Minister Francois Fillion and the pair had discussed holding a race in or near Paris, most likely in 2010. "We are going to make something in Paris."
