LONDON, England (CNN) -- Formula One chief Max Mosley has told the High Court in London that he spoke German during a sado-masochistic orgy with five women because the "harsh-sounding" language suited his dominant role.
FIA president Max Mosley has given frank evidence in his privacy suit against the News of the World.
Mosley, who acknowledges having a sado-masochistic encounter with sex workers but denies the News of the World's claim that it had a Nazi-theme, is suing the tabloid for invasion of privacy.
His lawyer said the tabloid had breached the privacy of the president of racing's governing body "for the amusement of its readers."
Mosley, the president of the FIA, which oversees world motor sport, has given frank evidence in the first two days of the hearing, saying Tuesday that the orgy involved him and woman B, a fellow German speaker, being dominant to submissive characters who could not understand them.
"German also somehow sounds appropriate for a bossy dominant character. It is a harsh-sounding -- rather than a romantic -- language," the British Press Association reported.
He said he and woman A, who arranged the "parties," never used the word "Nazi" in their discussions.
"A Nazi theme would be abhorrent to me -- and I suspect that none of the women would wish to take part should anyone suggest such a theme," Mosley told the court.
He told the court he used the pseudonym "Mike" to protect his identity and that the woman involved led "perfectly normal and respectable lives," PA reported.
Mosley said his life was devastated by the newspaper's report of what it called a "sick Nazi orgy with five hookers."
He told Mr Justice Eady that Jean, his wife of 48 years, had not known of this aspect of his life.
"In one weekend they have destroyed everything. It is difficult to describe how public this humiliation has been."
Before the court went into private to view a videotape of a similar scenario, which occurred on March 8, Mosley agreed the March 28 session involved women wearing black jackets, black boots and a black cap, but denied any Nazi aspect, PA reported.
"Had I wanted a Nazi scene, I would have said I wanted one and [woman] A would have got some of the inexpensive Nazi stuff from the joke shop that provides uniforms and would not have gone to Marks and Spencer and got quite expensive jackets."
Under cross-examination by Mark Warby QC, for the newspaper, Mosley told the court that the head-lice checking and shaving involved in the scenario was "the kind of thing these people do all the time," PA reported.
"I had never had lice-checking before but went with the flow. I didn't find it particularly erotic."
Asked about his speaking "cod German as though he was in a poor World War II movie," he said it had nothing to do with the war.
