LONDON, England (CNN) -- Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen is praying for sun at the German Grand Prix, as he seeks to end a miserable run that has seen Lewis Hamilton draw level with him in the race for the championship.

Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen wants the sun to shine on his title hopes at the German Grand Prix.

The Finn has suffered in the past three races - crashing out in the wet in Monaco, being shunted out by Hamilton in Montreal and failing to deal with the wet again at Silverstone.

He, Hamilton and Felipe Massa are now even on 48 points in the sprint for the drivers' title.

Raikkonen faces a tough task at the Hockenheim circuit, which has not been a happy hunting ground in the past.

"These races in Germany have never gone as I have been hoping for. Obviously both circuits -- Hockenheim and Nurburgring -- have not been very kind to me in the past. That said I like them both and I have always been very competitive there," Raikkonen said.

"I suppose my German highlights are my pole positions. You never gain any points from them, so we better change the course also there.

"I have been leading many times in Germany, but always something has gone wrong. Like last year in Nurburgring we got the pole, but we never finished the race."

The Finn was pleased with their testing at the Hockenheim circuit, however, he wanted good weather for the race.

"Obviously, for us, the hot weather suits fine. Our car prefers the hot temperatures and in the long run it's not that hard on tires, too. So my thumbs are up for the real summer weather in Hockenheim.

"I've been in a position to win the last three grands prix, but for various reasons things did not go my way. But that's racing and I'm sure the win will soon come again."
