(CNN) -- World champions South Africa scored a record 42-6 win over England at Twickenham on Saturday to continue their unbeaten tour of the British Isles.
Pienaar touches down for a try on the way to his tally of 20 points in South Africa's record victory.
The 36-point margin smashed England's previous record home
defeat, which they suffered in November 2006 with a 41-20 loss to New Zealand.
It was South Africa's sixth successive win over England, including last year's World Cup final in France, and by far the easiest.
Five tries from Danie Rossouw, Ryan Pienaar, Adi Jacobs, Jaque Fourie and Bryan Habana wrapped up victory for the tourists and left new England manager Martin Johnson with a major headache after his second straight heavy defeat.
Pienaar finished with a total of 20 points while all England could muster were two penalties from flyhalf Danny Cipriani who had a poor game.
Cipriani put England 3-0 ahead with an early penalty but Pienaar made it 3-3 and South Africa were never headed again.
Pressed for the first time in the match, England was unable to hold out as Roussouw barged over for the opening try.
At 10-3 down and attacking from deep, Cipriani was left with little support and had to kick, but took too much time and Pienaar charged down to set up a try which he then converted.
Another penalty made it 20-3 and, although Cipriani trimmed the advantage, South Africa ended the first half in the ascendancy.
Pienaar later made it 30-6 in the second half and, although South Africa was again down to 14 men for Conrad Jantjes' yellow card, England could not take advantage of numerical supremacy.
They conceded a converted breakaway trie to Fourie before Habana rounded off the try scoring -- completing a defeat that surpassed the 29-11 reverse to the Springboks in 1997.
In other autumn international action on Saturday, Ronan O'Gara scored 12 points and provided a crossfield kick for Tommy Bowe to score the only try as Ireland beat Argentina 17-3 at Croke Park.
In a bad-tempered game, Argentina took the lead late in the first half through replacement kicker Santiago Fernandez but then conceded 17 points with O'Gara kicking three penalties and a drop goal as well as setting up Bowe.
The result not only stopped Argentina beating the Irish for the fourth time in a row, it made sure that Ireland will join the Pumas among the seeds in the draw for the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand.
Scotland also scored a much-needed victory, beating lowly-rated Canada 41-0 in Aberdeen with Nikki Walker scoing two of the six tries for the home team.
