(CNN) -- Germany's Maria Riesch claimed her second World Cup victory of the season -- and eighth of her career -- by taking the women's night slalom in Semmering, Austria, on Monday.

Riesch was claiming her second Wiorld Cup victory of the season after her earlier win at La Molina.
Riesch, who went into her second run on top after leading from the opening run, clocked a combined time of one minute, 55.97 seconds.
Finland's Tanja Poutiainen finished second, 0.21 behind Riesch, with American Lindsey Vonn finishing 0.72 seconds behind the winner in third place to maintain her advantage at the top of the overall standings.
Austria's Kathrin Zettel, the winner of Sunday's giant slalom, took fourth, 0.93 seconds adrift.
Riesch, who also won in La Molina, Spain two weeks ago has now overtaken Vonn at the top of the slalom standings. She has 300 points, with Vonn just 10 points behind on 290.
The slalom discipline has been dominated for the past two seasons by Austria's Marlies Schild, who is out for the season after breaking her left leg in training in October.
The women's World Cup circuit continues with a slalom in Zagreb, Croatia on January 4.
