PARIS, France -- Bordeaux humiliated Monaco with a six-goal second-half scoring spree to move within a point of French league leaders Lyon on Sunday.

Cavenaghi started the goal riot with his 51st minute strike.
Prince Albert, watching from the stand, must have squirmed in his seat as the home side slumped to an embarrassing 6-0 loss.
Marseille beat old rivals Paris St Germain 2-1.
It took Bordeaux 51 minutes to pierce the Monaco defense, Argentinian import Fernando Cavenaghi opening the floodgates when he converted a Johan Micoud pass.
Micoud added a second with a drive off the underside of the crossbar on the hour before Cavenaghi added his second four minutes later.
Monaco's gloom deepened in the 65th minute when Diego Perez was shown the red card after a fierce tackle on David Bellion.
With nine minutes left Monaco were still hanging on at 3-0 down but they caved in and let in three more, from Maroune Chamakh, Micoud and Gabriel Obertan.
Jerome Rothen gave Paris St Germain a 30th minute lead from the penalty spot at Marseille, but Taye Taiwo equalized seven minutes later and Mamadou Niang scored the 45th minute winner.
Lyon had slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Le Mans on Saturday, a repeat of the outcome when the sides met in the French league Cup semifinals last month,
Brazilian Tulio De Melo scored in the 70th minute from a cross by Ibrahima Camara and Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas had a few grumbles about the Stade Leon Bollee pitch.
"The pitch doesn't explain our defeat," he said, "but if you want to see a good match, you need a good pitch. Sadly a lot in France are not worthy of the top flight."
Le Mans moved into fifth place in the table with 37 points to maintain their hopes of a European place next season. E-mail to a friend ![]()
