LONDON, England -- South African international Benni McCarthy converted two penalties as Blackburn Rovers beat neighbors Bolton 4-1 in the English Premier League on Sunday

McCarthy made no mistake with his opportunities from the penalty spot.
After McCarthy opened the scoring with a 25th minute penalty Bolton drew level five minutes after the break through Kevin Davies.
McCarthy's second penalty restored Blackburn's lead after 67 minutes and David Bentley made it 3-1 three minutes later.
Morten Gamst Pedersen grabbed Blackburn's fourth in the last minute.
McCarthy had only scored once this year and that was also from the penalty spot.
Aston Villa stayed in contention for a spot in next season's Champions League by winning 2-1 at Reading.
Ashley Young and Marlon Harewood scored for Villa, whose Gareth Barry missed a penalty kick.
Villa stayed in sixth place, level on points with fourth-placed Liverpool and fifth-placed Everton on 47 points.
Young gave Villa the lead in the 45th minute from a pass from Gabriel Agbonlahor, and Harewood lobbed Reading goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann in the 83rd.
