(CNN) -- Barcelona's Spanish title hopes suffered a major setback as they threw away a two-goal lead to go down to a 3-2 defeat to Real Betis on Saturday night.

Real Betis joy is complete as they send Barcelona crashing to a shock defeat.
Barca went into the match with high hopes of closing the gap on leaders Real Madird to just a single point and looked well on the way to that objective as Bojun Krkic and Samuel Eto'o put them two up inside 15 minutes.
It was the third goal in two matches for 17-year-old Krkic as he latched on to a ball in the area to beat Casto Espinosa in the Betis goal.
The visitors continued to dominate and should have added to their advantage by half-time.
But after the interval it was a different story as relegation-threatened Betis hit back in dramatic style.
Edu scored with a neat header after 63 minutes and then missed the chance to level when Victor Valdes saved his penalty.
But in the 75th minute Juanito equalized with an exquisite volley to set up an exciting finish.
Edu produced a brilliant winner just three minutes later as he waltzed around French international defender Liliam Thuram before firing home a spectacular shot.
The three points lifts Real Betis six points clear of the relegation zone, while Real Madrid can move seven points ahead of Barcelona at the top on Sunday if they beat visitors Sevilla. E-mail to a friend ![]()
