(CNN) -- Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb will sit out the rest of the Premier League season after admitting an English Football Association (FA) charge of violent conduct.
Hleb received a three-game ban after admitting a violent conduct charge.
The Belarus international has been banned for three matches following an off-the-ball clash with Reading captain Graeme Murty during third-placed Arsenal's 2-0 Premier League victory at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
The 26-year-old appeared to strike defender Murty with his open hand, but referee Peter Walton did not see the incident.
However, FA officials charged Hleb after watching television footage of the match.
Hleb -- who has been linked with a summer move to Italian leaders Inter Milan -- will miss the London club's final matches of the season against relegated Derby, UEFA Cup hopefuls Everton and struggling Sunderland. E-mail to a friend
