(CNN) -- Lyon moved to within touching distance of a seventh successive French league title after a 1-0 home win over third-placed Nancy on Saturday night.

Lyon are closing on a seventh successive French league crown but being pushed all the way by Bordeaux.

Closest rivals Bordeaux made sure the championship will go down to the final round next weekend with a 2-0 home win over Sochaux, but Lyon, who lead by two points and with a superior goal difference, will need just a draw to clinch the title.

Alain Perrin's men took until just after the hour mark to score their vital breakthrough as Nancy's Brazilian defender Andre Luiz deflected a shot from Juninho into his own net.

In the desperate battle to avoid relegation, League Cup winners Paris St Germain grabbed a valuable home point in the 1-1 draw with St Etienne, switching places in the bottom three with Lens who lost 2-1 at Lille.

PSG also moved above Toulouse who were beaten 2-1 at Rennes, but all three will face an anxious final round to see who goes down to the second-flight with Metz and Strasbourg.

Laurent Blanc's Bordeaux will be hoping Auxerre can upset Lyon in the final round after their comfortable 2-0 win over Sochaux.

Fernando scored with a low-angled shot following a corner in first half injury time and after the restart Bordeaux doubled their lead as Marouane Chamak beat Freddy Richert with a superb header at the near post in the 57th minute.
