LONDON, England -- Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson had barely finished celebrating his side's 10th Premier League title in 16 years when thoughts turned to the Champions League final showdown with Chelsea.
Goal hero Ryan Giggs holds the Premier League title aloft after the 2-0 win at Wigan.
"The great thing is we are bouncing into the final. We can look forward to it. If we lost to Chelsea today that is a big job," he told Sky Sports News.
Victory over Chelsea in Moscow on May 21 would complete a coveted double for United on the 50th anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster which decimated Matt Busby's legendary team.
Ferguson has landed one Champions League title in 1999 when his side completed the treble and he shows every sign of continuing his remarkable managerial career.
"I am very proud to have survived so long but I am at a great club which makes it easier for me than the rest."
Ferguson also predicted that the current United side will overhaul Liverpool's overall total of 18 titles. United now have 17.
"I think it will come. This side is young. There is plenty left in them."
"It was a tough one but it is fantastic," said a delighted Ferguson. "I'm very proud but I have a great club. It's much easier for me than anyone else."
Chelsea boss Avram Grant, under pressure for his job despite steering his team on an unbeaten 21-match run in the league, paid tribute to Ferguson.
"I want to congratulate Manchester United and Alex Ferguson," Grant told Sky Sports News.
"He is a great manager and a great person, I like him personally. It is amazing what he did."
