LONDON, England -- Sven-Goran Eriksson's future as Manchester City manager should become clearer when he meets club owner Thaksin Shinawatra in Thailand this week.
The Swede's future has been the subject of constant speculation in recent weeks despite a promising first season in charge.
Former England coach Eriksson said after City's 8-1 thrashing by Middlesbrough in their final game of the season on Sunday that he wanted the matter resolved quickly.
Eriksson is scheduled to lead City on their post-season tour to the Far East this week and assistant boss Tord Grip told BBC Sport: "Sven has not heard any more. He will go to Thailand on Tuesday and meet Dr Thaksin there."
Former Thai prime minister Thaksin was not at Middlesbrough, but is thought to have already indicated to Eriksson that he will change managers before next season.
The likelihood of Eriksson leaving has angered supporters, with protests being staged in the past two weeks -- and fans chanting his name from start to finish at Middlesdbrough despite the club's heaviest Premier League defeat.
It now seems Eriksson will at least remain in charge until after the summer trip, which includes games in Thailand and Hong Kong.
