(CNN) -- Germany coach Joachim Loew has named uncapped Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci in his squad for next week's friendly international against Belgium in Nuremberg.

Loew has named 21 players in his first squad since Germany's Euro 2008 final defeat by Spain.

Loew has named a total of 21 players for the match -- Germany's first since their Euro 2008 final defeat by Spain in Vienna.

Alongside Tasci, Loew has called up Marko Marin, Patrick Helmes and Jermaine Jones, who were all dropped from the Euro 2008 squad.

However, Bayern Munich youngster Toni Kroos has not been selected and will play for the Under-21 team instead.

"I'm delighted, but I will not get too euphoric. I've been selected a few times now but I've been cursed with injury each time," said Tasci.

With the retirement of goalkeeper Jens Lehmann from international football, Loew has called up both Robert Enke and Rene Adler.

Schalke's Manuel Neuer is injured, while Valencia's Timo Hildebrand has once again been overlooked although Loew has not ruled out recalling him in the near future.

Per Mertesacker, Bernd Schneider, Tim Borowski, David Odonkor, Arne Friedrich and Oliver Neuville are all overlooked because of injury.

The match against Belgium will serve as a warm-up ahead of Germany's up-coming World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Finland on September 6 and September 10.

Germany squad:

Goalkeepers: Rene Adler (Bayer Leverkusen), Robert Enke (Hannover)
