(CNN) -- Nigel Reo-Coker and Ashley Young were on target for Aston Villa as they won 2-1 away to Tottenham Hotspur, who find themselves rooted to the foot of the English Premier League table, without a win after four games.

Young's 54th minute winner was assisted by a blunder by Tottenham goalkeeper Gomes.
Juande Ramos named new signings Vedran Corluka and Roman Pavlyuchenko in the starting line-up, leaving Jermaine Jenas and David Bentley on the bench, along side Frazier Campbell, Tottenham's on-loan capture from Manchester United.
Villa were unchanged and after surviving a bright start from the home side took the lead in their first attack after five minutes.
Gabriel Agbonlahor sent over a low cross from the left, John Carew flicked it on and Nigel Reo-Coker sidefooted the ball home.
Four minutes later Reo-Coker sent a mis-hit effort against a post and Villa began to assert themselves.
Pavlyuchenko was on target with a good effort in the 22nd minute but Villa defender Curtis Davies blocked the shot with his head.
Tottenham became unimpressive and suffered a blow when Luca Modric went off injured after 29 minutes, Jenas taking his place.
Tom Huddlestone tested Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel from 30 yards and just mis-hit another chance two minutes before the break.
Villa brought on Bentley in place of Didier Zokora for the second period but after 54 minutes a blunder by goalkeeper Gomes cost Tottenham dearly as Villa doubled their advantage.
Ashley Young cut in from the left and Dawson failed to prevent him from unleashing a shot. To the Tottenham fans' dismay Gomes allowed the ball to slip under his body and into the net.
Villa handled Tottenham's despairing attacks competently until the 87th minute when Darren Bent stuck out a knee to deflect a Jenas shot into the visitors' net.
As Spurs pressed for an equalizer Villa broke away and Marlon Harewood had a glorious chance to wrap up victory with the goal at his mercy, but Jenas made a desperate clearance.
There was time for Bentley to have two opportunities at the other end, but he shot straight at Friedel and was then thwarted by a great block from Villa substitute Craig Gardner.
