(CNN) -- Juventus remained unbeaten and rose to third in the Serie A table after a disappointing goalless draw at Sampdoria, who are still without a win after five outings this season.

Del Piero provided Juventus' main threat in a disappointing match.
Juve's Italy center-half Giorgio Chiellini said: "Unfortunately we didn't manage to score. We hoped to but it was a difficult match," he said.
"But even though the forwards failed to score ... the defense concedes few goals and part of that is thanks to the help we get from the forwards.
"There's only been five matches and its too early to run away. Of course it would be better to be in front but the championship is long and we'll bounce back in the next matches."
In a dreadful game Juventus had their best chances in the first period.
After four minutes veteran striker Alessandro Del Piero forced Samp goalkeeper Antonio Mirante into a sprawling save from a free-kick and Christian Poulsen fired the rebound over the bar.
Del Piero went close again on 20 minutes after a surging run forward from Mali midfielder Momo Sissoko and shortly before the break shot over from seven yards.
In the second half Juve's Austrian goalkeeper Alex Manninger tipped over a header from Stefano Lucchini and foiled Daniele Dessena in injury time.
Alberto Gilardino's 61st minute goal gave Fiorentina a 1-0 home win over Genoa.
