(CNN) -- Darren Bent grabbed a hat-trick as Tottenham thrashed Dinamo Zagreb 4-0 in UEFA Cup Group D to continue their amazing revival under new manager Harry Redknapp.
Darren Bent fires home his opening goal as Tottenham continued their revival under Harry Redknapp.
Spurs now have three wins and a morale-boosting draw against Arsenal since Redknapp's appointment as manager -- but unlike their last two results they were not made to wait until stoppage-time to seal this result.
Bent grabbed the opener on the half-hour mark, converting a cross from former Zagreb player Luka Modric that went in off the crossbar.
His second came three minutes later after Dinamo failed to play the ball out of defense. Tom Huddlestone spotted Bent free inside the penalty area -- and the striker tucked his finish under goalkeeper Ivan Kelava.
Huddlestone himself made it 3-0 with a stunning volley, drilling David Bentley's corner low into the net and Bent grabbed his hat-trick with 20 minutes to go after Huddlestone found him with a superb defense-splitting pass.
It proved a good night for the other two English clubs with Aston Villa and Manchester City also collecting important victories.
Villa took a giant step towards qualification for the knockout stages by becoming the first team to beat Czech side Slavia Prague at their new Eden Stadion.
John Carew's fortuitous 26th-minute goal, when he deflected in a shot from Steve Sidwell, gave a much-changed Villa side a deserved lead at half-time.
The second half was a different story as Slavia saw chance after chance go begging, but Martin O'Neill's team held on to win 1-0 and make it six points from two games in Group F.
Meanwhile, City beat Dutch side FC Twente, now managed by former England coach Steve McClaren, 3-2 in a topsy-turvy encounter.
City got off to a flying start when Shaun Wright-Phillips fired a right-foot shot into the corner, after a neat one-two with Jo, after just two minutes -- but Twente levelled in the 17th minute when the City defense anticipated a referee's whistle that never came, allowing Eljero Elia to rifle a cross-shot home.
Record signing Robinho restored City's lead with a superb curling shot from just inside the penalty area and Benjani added a third with a deflected strike that wrong-footed the goalkeeper.
Robbie Wielaert pulled a goal back with a header from a corner before Robinho twice hit the woodwork in an end-to-end finish.
Former twice world player of the year Ronaldinho came off the bench to score an injury-time winner as tournament favorites AC Milan beat Sporting Braga 1-0 at the San Siro in Group E.
The Brazilian struck three minutes into time added on to deal a cruel blow to the Portuguese visitors who had enjoyed the better chances throughout the evening.
But Ronaldinho continued his recent run of form as he let fly from just over 20 meters out, finding the top corner despite a host of bodies blocking his target.
Fabio Quagliarella scored a goal in each half to lead Udinese to a 2-1 win over Spartak Moscow in the other Group D match, giving the Serie A side a second successive group win.
Quagliarella put Udinese ahead in the 12th minute, beating two Spartak defenders and shooting low into the net from inside the box.
A minute earlier, the Italian international striker struck the woodwork from just two meters out after a cross from the left.
Argentinian defender Clemente Rodriguez equalized for the home side just five minutes later with a shot from an inswinging corner from Aleksandr Pavlenko.
Quagliarella restored Udinese's lead in the 60th minute from the penalty spot after Rodriguez fouled Simone Pepe in the area.
Congolese striker Dieumerci Mbokani gave Standard Liege a 1-0 win over Sevilla and a share of the lead in Group C.
The only goal came in the 38th minute when Marcos Camozzato fed Mbokani through the center -- and he kept a cool head to beat goalkeeper Andres Palop.
Second-half goals from Emre Asik and Umit Karan gave Galatasaray a superb 2-0 away victory at Benfica, to send the Turkish club top of Group B with a maximum six points.
Asik gave the visitors the initiative six minutes into the second half after the Galatasaray defender fired in Lincoln's inswinging cross.
Karan added the second goal seven minutes later, striking Arda Turan's cross from the left past Benfica goalkeeper Quim.
Mario Gomez scored twice in five second-half minutes to give Stuttgart a 2-0 victory over Partizan Belgrade in Group C, although fellow-Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin had to settle for a disappointing 0-0 draw against Metalist Kharkiv in Ukraine in Group B.
