(CNN) -- Karim Benzema has set his sights on a move away from seven-times French champions Lyon at the end of the current season.

Benzema has revealed that he is looking to leave French champions Lyon at the end of the season.

The prodigious striker says he wants to discuss his future at the end of the season and is eyeing a move to one of Europe's top clubs.

Benzema told L'Equipe TV: "There are a lot of clubs -- Barcelona, Real Madrid, but also Manchester United, AC Milan. They are all clubs you dream about.

"I like Spain, but Manchester, Milan, you progress so much there. "I want to progress at the highest level to be among the world's best."

Benzema has become a transfer target after netting over 40 goals for club and country since bursting onto the scene two seasons ago.

The 20-year-old has had a hefty 100 million euros valuation placed on his head by Lyon club president Jean-Michel Aulas, a fee unlikely to be met in the current financial climate.

"That's up to the president," Benzema said of the mooted transfer fee.

"I imagine people are surprised because it's a big sum. "We'll play this year and then we'll see what happens," he added.
