(CNN) -- Henri Camara scored his first Premier League goal in almost two years, as Wigan beat Everton 1-0 at the JJB Stadium.

Wigan Athletic's Senegalese forward Henri Camara celebrates after scoring.
The result earned Wigan only their second home win of the season and moved them out of the relegation zone, while Everton missed the chance to move into the top six.
The visitors had the better of the early exchanges, and almost took the lead after five minutes when Tim Cahill headed Mikel Arteta's corner over the bar from eight yards out.
Yakubu then broke clear down the left flank and delivered an inch-perfect cross into Louis Saha's feet. The French striker edged forward before firing in a low shot which Chris Kirkland did well to block with a fine one-handed save.
Wigan went close twice within the space of a minute on the stroke of half-time when Tim Howard palmed away the influential Lee Cattermole's curling shot from 14 yards, then produced an even better save to repel Paul Scharner's close-range header.
However, the home side made the breakthrough on 51 minutes through substitute Camara. The Senegal striker was in the right place to tap home after Antonio Valencia had brilliantly turned inside Joleon Lescott and slid the ball into his path.
Wigan could have doubled their lead in the 71st minute when Valencia broke clear and hit a powerful shot from 14 yards which Howard blocked with an outstretched arm.
Everton almost snatched a point in injury time but Cahill shot over the bar.
Wigan boss Steve Bruce was delighted to see his side move out of the bottom three. "We are delighted that we got the points for obvious reasons," The British Press Association quoted him as saying.
"That was arguably one of our poorest performances if I am being brutally honest. But it was a great result and a great feeling to finally get another home win."
