(CNN) -- Torino coach Gianni De Biasi has been sacked and replaced at the Italian club by his predecessor Walter Novellino.

Novellino is back as coach of Torino despite being sacked from the position in April.

Supporters threw eggs and abused the players after Sunday's 4-1 home defeat to Fiorentina left the team fourth from bottom of the Serie A table.

It marks the end of De Biasi's third stint in charge of Torino, who face Bologna on Saturday.

De Biasi was also fired before the 2006/07 season after leading them to promotion from Serie B, only to be recalled for the second half of the campaign when his succesore Alberto Zaccheroni was dismissed.

Former Sampdoria coach Novellino first took over in the summer of 2007 but was sacked in April 2008, five matches before the end of the season, with the club in serious danger of relegation.
