Milan take on Werder Bremen in UEFA Cup

(CNN) -- Italian giants AC Milan will face Bundesliga side Werder Bremen in the last 32 of the UEFA Cup as they continue in their quest to win the only major European trophy that has so far eluded them.

Milan have been European champions seven times and have won two Cup Winners' Cups and five Super Cups -- and the UEFA Cup is the only major continental title they have yet to claim.

The draw in Nyon also saw defending champions Zenit St Petersburg face another German side in the shape of Stuttgart.

Meanwhile, the three English sides remaining enjoyed contrasting fortunes with Manchester City handed a tie against Danish side FC Copenhagen.

However, Aston Villa and Tottenham have both been handed tricky eastern European opponents with Villa facing CSKA Moscow -- the only team to win all their four qualification matches -- while Spurs take on Shakhtar Donetsk.

A win for both of those two Premier League sides will see them face each other for a place in the quarterfinals.

The winners of each qualifying group face teams who finished third, while the second-placed sides take on those club that drop down from the Champions League.
