(CNN) -- Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has broken his silence over skipper John Terry's dismissal at Everton -- and says he still cannot understand the decision.

England and Chelsea skipper John Terry is given his marching orders by referee Phil Dowd at Everton.

England and Chelsea skipper John Terry is given his marching orders by referee Phil Dowd at Everton.

Terry was sent off in the goalless draw at Everton following a lunge on Leon Osman and Scolari refused to face the media at the end of the game at Goodison Park.

Scolari has now told ChelseaTV that he did not want to comment on the first half controversy until he had viewed the incident again on video..

"If I go to say something (straight after the game) maybe I say something wrong and I need more time to look at everything," he told the channel.

"I have to look at the game again if something happened in the game. I need to be sure about this or that. I said no (to the press) at that time because maybe I'd have problems in the future - in that time I am not calm.

"If I go then I answer some questions and I'm angry."

The Brazilian was clearly upset when referee Phil Dowd produced the red card -- a decision that probably cost Chelsea the Premier League lead over Christmas.

And Scolari has not seen anything since to convince him that Terry deserved his dismissal.

"Maybe I look at the game and I change my mind, but I don't change my mind about yesterday. I looked at the game again and I don't change.

"It's the same as I thought yesterday. For me it's not normal. I don't very well understand the decision.

"But he's the referee. After (the red card) John he goes to his friend (Osman) to apologise, he goes off like normal. He's a very good captain, he accepts the decision from the referee."

Scolari at least had something to be happy about on Tuesday with defender Ricardo Carvalho back in full training after a knee injury.

"It's the first time Ricardo has trained with us normally and I think after seven days -- 10 days maximum -- he'll start to play," he said.
