LONDON, England (CNN) -- It has been one of the busiest years in football ever, and 2008 has produced its fair share of great teams right across the globe.

Spain triumphed in the European Championships in Austria and Switzerland before being elevated to first place in the world rankings, while Manchester United did the double winning the English Premier League and European Champions League, before claiming the World Club title in December.

Tell us who you think was the best football team in 2008 and why.

In Asia, Gamba Osaka won the AFC Champions League and managed to take Manchester United to an eight goal thriller in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup.

The New Zealand national team completed a clean sweep of the Oceania region to once again qualify for next year's Confederations Cup in South Africa. They now find themselves just a two-leg tie away from claiming a place in the 2010 World Cup.

At the Olympics Argentina took out the gold medal, managing to overcome a spirited Nigerian side which claimed silver.
