JAKARTA, Indonesia -- Chile's Felipe Aguilar fired an eight-under-par 62 to lead by two strokes at the halfway stage of the Indonesia Open in Jakarta on Friday.

Aguilar struck the ball superbly during a flawless second round in Jakarta.

Aguilar took advantage of favorable morning conditions at the Cengkareng Golf Club to go into the clubhouse on with a 13-under-par aggregate of 127.

""I feel ready to win," he said. "I have the will and I have the game -- I just need to wait for the right week and hopefully it is this one."

Thailand's Prom Meesawat and South Africa's James Kamte share second place on 129, with Meesawat's in-form compatriot Prayad Marksaeng and Austria's Martin Wiegele a further shot adrift.

First round leaders Joost Luiten and Australian David Bransdon, who had first round 64s, endured disappointing rounds in relation to their opening day performance.

Lutien carded a one-under 69 to fall six shots behind Aguilar with seven-under overall while Bransdon fared even worse, dropping way down the leaderboard after carding a disastrous four-over-par 74.

India's Jeev Milkha Singh posted a 66 to take sixth place while China's Liang Wenchong recorded a 67 and is in seventh place at the $1.2-million event, co-sanctioned by the European and Asian Tours.

Defending champion Mikko Ilonen carded a 134 to hold joint 15th place while Ryder Cup star Darren Clarke started superbly with a hole in one on the par-three fourth hole.

But after picking up two further birdies struggled on the back nine to record a 67 to hold 20th place.

"It would be nice to put a low (score) in tomorrow," said Clarke. "If I can get down to 23 or 24 putts then I could move up the leaderboard."

Fellow-Irishman Paul McGinley, who like Clarke finished the opening round on two-under, finished one under for the day and trails Aguilar by 10 strokes. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend
